In the event of circumstances justifying such a decision, further public hearings may be held early in December 2006.

At these November hearings the Enquiry will afford selected stakeholders an opportunity to make public presentations regarding their submissions. These presentations will be of short duration with parties being expected to briefly summarize and highlight the main thrust of their submissions.

Except where the panel decides otherwise all such hearings are open to the public and Guidelines have been issued to assist stakeholders in understanding the procedures to be adopted at the hearings and to guide them in making their oral presentations.  Such guidelines, however, only apply to the first public hearings to be held in November 2006.  Further guidelines will be issued for the second set of public hearings that will be held in March and April 2007.

The presentation at the November hearings will be from the major banks, smaller banks, consumer groups, some regulators and members of the public.  Details of the presentations to be made at any of the hearings will be available on the Enquiry website or can be obtained from the Enquiry Manager at least three days before the date of any of the hearings.

For any queries relating to the hearings or to the Enquiry generally, please do not hesitate to contact the Enquiry.

Note

As this Hearing Schedule was prepared before the receipt of submissions, the presentations listed in this schedule and the  sequence thereof may be amended at any time before the date of the hearings.  Adequate notice of any amendments will be given.

The dates and cities for the hearings are however fixed
