The Competition Commission offers challenging careers in a number of professional fields. It is an independent institution that investigates controls and evaluates restrictive practices, abuses of dominant position, and mergers in order to promote and maintain competition in the economy.
The Commission employs professionals with diverse backgrounds, mainly, lawyers and economists to realize its goal of a free and efficient economy for all. However, it also offers opportunities for individuals who seek positions in other professional, administrative and support functions.
The Competition Commission has a research grant programme for Masters students in economics interested in doing their dissertation in topics related to competition economics.
The Competition Commission has a graduate trainee programme, where graduates who are mainly in the field of Economics and Law are placed on a graduate trainee programme for a period of 12 months renewable up to 24 months. During this period the graduates are assigned to mentors and are provided with the necessary experience and skills related to Competition issues.
The Graduate Trainee Programme forms part of the Commission’s Social Responsibility programme, in that it offers Graduates the opportunity to receive on the job-training in their area of study as well as on Competition matters.
