Policy and Research

The Policy and Research division is composed largely of economists together with the staff of the Commission’s information and resource centre. The division is headed by the chief economist Simon Roberts and is responsible for undertaking economic analysis for complex cases, whether mergers or possible prohibited practices, with staff working as members of inter-divisional teams. The division also plays a leading role in studies by the Commission into the structure and behaviour of firms in identified sectors.
