Advocacy
Ms Khanyisa Qobo is the Divisional Manager of Advocacy. She joined the Commission in October 2012, where she established the Policy Analysis function, with the aim of promoting better alignment of Government policy and regulation to competition objectives.
She later became the Head of Strategy & Planning, assisting the Commission in developing its current “Vision 2030” and 5-year strategy.
Ms Qobo holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of Cape Town, where she also completed her undergraduate degree in Economics. She is a certified practitioner in Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Resolution with a qualification from Erasmus University, in the Netherlands.
Ms Qobo has varied experience from both the private and not-for-profit sector, specialising in the field of policy and research. Prior to joining the Commission, she ran a consulting practice, providing trade and investment advisory and research services. Ms Qobo has represented the Commission at various domestic and international fora on advocacy-related themes.
